The coin seen across Enchiron originates with them. Coin isn't accepted everywhere--especially in rural areas--but most city centers see the merchants often enough for it to be useful, or know someone who likes to trade with them. Coin isn't as valuable as raw material or labor, but it's gaining traction as a convenient shorthand.
