[[Category:Places]] Life began in desert sands, or so say the Eniyans. In the modern day, much of the country is barren, but life still thrives in the coasts and prairies. The humans of Eniya have turned to the sea and become its masters, connecting plateau to savanna and all to unknown horizons. Few brave the desert heat, but those that do may find, if the winds blow just right, the remains of something far larger than themselves. ==Geography== A country in the eastern deserts. ===Architecture=== Square, white plaster by the coast. Eniyaโs urban centers are dense with many narrow streets and different levels. Parkour is very popular among the youth. ===Notable Locations=== There are a wide variety of landmarks within Eniya, from its balmy coastline to the northern stone rivers. A selection of some of its most well known ones are as follows. ====Arenoc==== The capital. ====Ruins of Giants==== Larger than life bones. ====Lowland Plateaus==== Well guarded villages to the north. ====Ocean of Grass==== Pastoral. ==History== The first nation. ===Technology=== Seafarers. ==Politics== Eniya is a parliamentary monarchy ruled by the Man and Woman in Glass. These rulers are nameless and (symbolically) eternal. Inaugurations and deaths occur in secret, and when either appear in public, it is always masked or silhouetted to hide the identity of the one holding the title, to preserve the illusion that the Man and Woman are immortal. They are expected to be the perfect partnership, and each year is rung in with the Turning of the Glass, where they switch which of them is serving as the primary leader. ===Legal System=== Court and trial. ===International Relations=== Things are awkward with Sayil. Has a permanent superiority complex. ==Economy== Traders and merchants. ===Cuisine=== Fish and pasture animals, limited plants. ==Culture== Change and exploration. ===Arts and Entertainment=== Ceramics is popular. ===Fashions=== Eniya favors light and loose clothes with many layers. Their heat is a dry heat, and in most of the country, the nights are very cold. The layers help insulate them from both the heat and cold, and they can adjust the layers they wear for the temperature. while They mix and match fabrics the most; they use cottons, hemp, leather, and wools. While light, their fabrics aren't especially fine: the weight helps keep out the sands. They enjoy deep, rich colors with strong contrast, though their dyes are more limited. The hemp they make is also used for sails and ropes in the ship industry. As for accessories, they're fond of big fancy belts to tie off their various wraps, and jewelry of shells and shiny stones on cords. ===Holidays=== The Turning of the Glass is when their leaders change. ===Religion=== They worship the Glass as secular gods. The [[The Void Mother's Congregation|Void Mother's Congregation]] has also gained popularity here.
