= Reptiles = There exist more reptiles than dragons in this world. == Dagger-beaked Snapping Turtle == This species of turtle lives in the swamps of Sayil. They are ambush predators, with a tongue shaped like a small worm to lure in their prey. They have an incredible bite force and a territorial streak, and thus are to be avoided. They are quite large--up to a yard across-- and their shells are favored for making shields. == Sayilan Gharial == This crocodilian lives in the swamps of Sayil. It is almost entirely aquatic. Their eggs are considered a ritual delicacy, and their teeth and skin are used in weapons and armor. However, they are rarely hunted. Many Sayilans consider them the rulers of the swamp, and the superstitious believe that making eye contact with a lone gharial is an insult to them and will bring bad luck. == Shoalsnapper == This sea serpent primarily makes its home among the shoals and sand bars along the coasts of southern Enchiron. Covered in scales that range from stone grey to sandy brown, it lets the sand pile on its back and lies in wait until its prey dares to venture too close. When active, it eats heartily, and when full, it settles into a long torpor while it grows. They are territorial with anything that rivals them in size, living or not. While most specimens range 6-10 feet, in island and coastal towns, there are legends of truly enormous, ancient shoalsnappers slumbering just beneath the sand.
